Mr. Hansen is a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office, and working group leader for the Atlanta litigation group. With a keen understanding of virtually every type of issue that arises in the representation of secured creditors and banks, Mr. Hansen has served a wide range of regional, national and international clients in the financial services industries including major financial and lending institutions, banks and bank holding companies in managing both the risk of litigation and the litigation of matters related to notes and guaranties, negotiated loan workouts, personal and real property foreclosures, confirmations and receiverships, defense of lender liability claims, fraudulent conveyances and judgment enforcement activities. Mr. Hansen’s practice also involves a wide range of legal issues involving construction disputes, real estate and title insurance disputes, business torts and corporate collections, franchise disputes, contracts, personal injury, premises liability and arbitration. He also focuses on advising and counseling clients in the construction industry and assisting clients in drafting and negotiating design and construction contracts and seeking practical, cost effective solutions to disputes and claims together with a number of clients in the staffing and technology industries. Mr. Hansen is a regular lecturer for the financial services industry on lender liability and judgment enforcement.

Mr. Hansen also represents companies in lawsuits and agency proceedings involving all aspects of employment law, including litigating non-competition, non-solicitation and trade secret disputes, drafting non-competition agreements, and assisting clients with proactive measures to protect their trade secrets and proprietary business information. Mr. Hansen also has appeared in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and has extensive experience handling employment tort and contract claims, whistleblower claims, employment discrimination and sexual harassment litigation, employee benefits litigation, wage and hour issues (including collective action litigation), and retaliation claims.

Mr. Hansen graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee in 1990 and attended the University of Montana School of Law and Cumberland School of Law. He was an honors intern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jackson Davidson. He is licensed to practice in all the courts of Georgia and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. Mr. Hansen has appeared pro hac vice in matters in Alabama, California, Washington and West Virginia.
