Mr. Michelson is a partner in the firm whose practice consists primarily of commercial real estate transactions, including land acquisition and development, financing, leasing and sales. He has represented a variety of developers, real estate investors, retailers, institutional lenders and other local and national clients in all aspects of real estate transactions. The types of properties involved in these deals have included shopping centers, office, industrial, residential, and resort/hotel properties.

Mr. Michelson’s practice includes the preparation and negotiation of purchase agreements, leases, option agreements, financing documents, loan assumption documents, CC&Rs, reciprocal easement and operation agreements, development agreements and a variety of other real estate documents. He has assisted developers in acquiring, financing, developing and selling power centers, neighborhood centers and other retail projects and has experience negotiating leases with national tenants.

Additionally, he has negotiated and documented master credit facilities and revolving credit lines for the acquisition, development and construction of master-planned communities and golf courses in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii and Texas.

  • Representing a lender in a $180 million development loan for an approximately 7,000 acre master-planned community in Peoria, Arizona.
  • Representing a developer in the development, financing and leasing of a mixed-use project in North Scottsdale, Arizona.
  • Representing a utility company in connection with a $1.4 billion synthetic lease financing transaction for the construction of a power plant located in Arlington, Arizona.
  • Representing an international law firm in the negotiation of an office lease for approximately 70,000 square feet of office space in Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Representing a national homebuilder in the acquisition and development of residential subdivisions in the WestWing Mountain and Verrado master-planned communities located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
  • Representing a national homebuilder in a $29 million acquisition and development of residential subdivisions in the Mountains Edge master-planned community located in Clark County, Nevada.
